Hindustan Bible Institute & College was established in 1952 in Madras by Dr. Paul V. Gupta, a converted Hindu. Born into a Hindu family in 1920, he became a disciple of Christ in 1937. He found his peace and salvation when he believed and accepted Jesus Christ after hearing a street preacher proclaim, “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance that Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners…” II Tim 2:11.
Dr Gupta was moved by the need for the lost and surrendered his life to reach the people of India for Christ. To fulfill this purpose, God called him to multiply himself.
He incorporated into his strategy a training program to equip and mobilize men and women to take the Word of God to the unreached people of India.
