Regeneration
THEY
MOVE FORWARD..................
The
young men who were trained in boat building by a team from the
US had the opportunity to listen to the Word of
God and they were also given Bibles to read regularly.
They are actually now ready to find jobs for their living.
God
enabled us to bring 16 women from two villages -
Oyalikuppam and Venprusham to be trained in our sewing school
at HBI campus. They stayed with us in the campus for four
weeks. Along with training them in various sewing skills,
they were also taught to do minor repairs in the sewing
machines. They were also taken to an export company to
observe how various jobs are carried on and how they can even
be part of taking job orders.
The exciting part of the sewing training was the devotion
time that was conducted every morning before they started
their training. It was a wonderful time to share with them the
Word of God. We distributed Bibles to them and they
are trying to memorize Books of the Bible, Psalm 91, Psalm 23
and many other promises/verses. When these women
went to their homes during
weekends and shared with the other women how they benefited
from the devotion time, the other women in the villages
wanted to come to HBI just to share the joy that was
experienced by the trainees. Praise God!
LIFTING
HIS NAME ON HIGH!
We
hope that in God’s own time, we will have
a church in each of these villages that we are working in.
We have plans to enlist about 70
additional pastors
to use this opportunity to
minister to the people affected by the Tsunami. Slowly we
hope that God will open doors for us to bring His Light into
their darkened lives.
Since
we began reaching out to the people, we are greatly encouraged
by the response of the fisher folk in Ven Purusham, Kokalamedu
and Oyyalikuppam who have shown their eagerness in
participating in our worship services and have come forward to
donate a place for putting up sheds for worship.
They have given as a place to erect a 20 x 40 thatched shed so
that we can conduct prayer meetings every evening in their
village. Praise the Lord! We have our field
coordinator staying near the village, who will be taking
tutorial classes for the children especially teaching them
English between 4.30 to 5.30 p.m. and will conduct worship
service between 6.00 to 7.00 p.m. every evening. We thank
God for this great opportunity!
