BUILDING NEW BOATS AND NEW SHEDS

We were able to identify 9 young men who have the skills in making fiber glass boats. With all the encouragement and support we give them, along with the material to make the die to cast these boats, these young men are working on making new boats as we have helped set up a boat-making company. 

We thank God that our boat company is doing well and have done 10 boats so far. We distributed four boats to two villages that we work with. The villagers shared that our boats are certainly better than the others and appreciated the quality of work done by our guys that work in the boat company.

As the summer set in and the temperature started to soar, the people expressed their difficulties to live in the canvas tents we have provided. God enabled us to erect a total of 282 thatched huts in Oyyalikuppam, Kokalamedu, Ven Purusham and Nemilikuppam. Along with the huts, we also distributed each family a table fan. They are so thankful that we are sensitive to their needs and provided them with thatched huts and fans. 

To date we have distributed 10 fiber glass boats, 1200 kgs of nets, 850 table fans and provided them 282 thatched huts.

We need Prayers! Prayers! Prayers! 
The Government here has promised the affected people permanent housing, calling for people to help in this task, and there has been a call for non-Governmental organizations to partner in building these people houses and develop their community with school buildings, medical clinics, vocational training centers etc. We have sent them a proposal to be allowed to be a part of this re-building process.
